Allendorf (Eder) commercial airfield EDFQ

State-of-the-art airfield 

€10 million was invested in 2005 to radically modernise and enlarge the airfield at Allendorf (Eder). The runway was extended from 1090 to 1240 m and widened from 20 to 30 m. 

Instrument approach 

In conjunction with the expansion, class F airspace was established. Allendorf (Eder) airfield has a GPS-supported approach system, so planes can land in poor visibility via instrument approach procedure. A modern navigation light system (PAPI) supports instrument and visual approach.

Weather system 

Allendorf commercial airfield has an automatic system to gauge and chart weather data. The data is updated round the clock and is available via radio (ATIS 118.825 MHz).
